I will be healed - Jeremiah 17:14
I love finding the consistency of God in the Bible; things that I associate with the new covenant also being found in the old. We find that truths and revelations traditionally associated with the new testament have been available from the first covenant. God is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow. Here is today’s:
Jeremiah 17:14
Heal me, O Lord, and I will be healed;
Save me and I will be saved,
For You are my praise.
Healing claimed in faith is available to us. Abundant life in Him through freedom from past pains and current hurts is our for the asking.
‘A lie told often enough becomes the truth,’ as they say. When I was growing up, I often heard and felt incapable, not important enough and not good enough. ‘You can’t do that’, ‘I’m better than you’, ‘ha ha I win, you lose’, ‘you’re too little/fat/stupid to do that’. It always seemed that someone else was better off.
It took a long time to identify the lie that had sunk in and become a falsity lived out. It was strongly-rooted inside and painful to rip out. I had a support group and good people to talk with who helped me sort through my heart. I thank Him for that regularly. He has equipped me in His grace to do all that I am called to do, He has justified me and showered me with His goodness. God has released me from incapacity, I am important to Him and he has made me abundantly good enough. Hallelujah!
We each have need of healing, be it physical or spiritual. If it is God who does the healing, it will be done. For if He is the one who keeps us safe, it will be done. He alone is powerful. I have to continually open myself to Him so that he reveals to me the next healing I need from Him.
