A Prayer for Peace in Churches

Dear Lord,

We surrender to you. We lift up our hands in surrender. Surely, we have judged what is clean to be unclean. We have judged, and we have discouraged. Instead today we choose to join in unity and build your church into a church of peace. We choose to accept one another as you accepted us. We choose to serve as you served. We choose to bring God the glory and honor. We praise you.

Show us how to encourage one another, how to strengthen our faith and build endurance. Give us your mind toward one another that our acceptance of each other may grow. May the God of hope fill us with all joy and peace as we trust in you, overflowing with hope by the power of your Spirit. Amen.
