Lead us, Lord

On this July 4th Lord, we seek you as the leader of the United States.

May you be the guide and leader of the elected officials in each city, county, parish, state, and national office.

May unity and good for all be the guiding principle in establishing and carrying out the laws of the land.

May each person, citizen or guest of this nation, sense your presence and peace starting and continuing on from this day.

Bless those who represent this nation overseas and in the armed forces.

You, God, are our rock, in whom we take refuge, our shield and stronghold.
